Here we are again, Mercury Retrograde is upon us, officially starting this afternoon at about 5:15 pm Pacific time and at 11 degrees of Virgo. This wily astro energy will take us back to 28 degrees Leo before turning direct on Sept 5. Those of you who have any planets, asteroids, or house cusps in this 11 Virgo to 28 Leo range in your personal birth charts, or aspects to those degrees will likely feel the brunt of Mercury's wacky magic.
If worry is your go-to emotion when confronted with, well, anything out of your usual routine, you could find your anxiety level increased during this retrograde. That doesn't mean that those things really deserve your emotional energy to be spent that way, though.
What this period is, is a metaphysical test to see if you can shake off your concerns, ground your nerves, and not sweat the small stuff. You get the next 3 weeks to meet the challenge and pass the exam.
If criticizing everything is your favorite way of interacting with others, you're in luck for Mercury Retro will likely put lots in your path to have some judgment about until after Labor Day, and really potentially for much of September too while Mercury regains its lost ground.
Of course, others around you who don't understand that sharing your negative perspectives is just how you show your love, might find any hypercritical energies directed at them a bit too much to handle -- and tell you about it in no uncertain terms.
If you needed things done YESTERDAY for Pete's sake, and done right, well, you could be in for some retrograde snafus that will exasperate you if you aren't ready with a gallon of Rescue Remedy, a bucket of Chunky Monkey, and margaritas on tap within reach of your recliner.
This is the charming Merc magic that is likely to bless me this time around.
By the end of August when Mercury sashays backwards into Leo, those of us who occasionally enjoy being a bit high maintenance could get the chance to indulge in being overly dramatic about retrograde screw ups -- altho, it's not like that's going to make us a hit with our friends and family.
I'm considering sending I'm sorry texts in advance to everyone I expect to have the misfortune of dealing with me until mid September.
