Astrology is a complex experiential science and unique psycho-energetic interpretive art. It is based on thousands of years of observation of positions and movements of planets through the constellations, and the correlated patterns of human behavior.

Famed Swiss psychoanalyst Carl Jung understood the psychological value of astrology for understanding the varieties of personality and emotional expression. Several forms of astrology -- transpersonal, humanist, and esoteric especially - have roots in Jung's theories.

​

Greek physician Hippocrates (460-370 BCE), whose oath to do no harm doctors still take to this day, is reputed to have said that a physician without knowledge of astrology has no right to call himself a physician.

​

With proper, intensive study,  astrology can be appropriately used as an adjunctive aid in financial investments, medical treatments, psychological diagnosis, relationship conflicts, parenting, and self-understanding. 

 

WiseWomanSeer primarily practices psychological astrology, bringing to consciousness unconscious factors in how you meet and handle life's challenges, and shining light on the various archetypal energies that flow through you.

What I Include in Astrology Readings

 

​Classical western astrology considers 12 constellations, 12 houses or life areas, the 2 luminaries (Sun and Moon) and 8 planets (we still call Pluto a planet),  the nodes of the Moon, and the Ascendent.  Many astrologers also include Chiron as a planetoid.


Some astrologers also work with the 4 main asteroids of Ceres, Juno, Vesta, and Pallas Athene.
 

When your focus question warrants, I may add one or two chart entities beyond these, depending on the reading, because they have proven useful in my own life and for my clients.  Extra entities you might see in your chart and reading include:

 

  • Hygeia -- asteroid of health

  • Astraea -- asteroid of waiting

  • Transpluto -- asteroid of abandonment & reunion

  • Black Moon Lillith -- point of ambivalence before burning bridges

  • Eris -- asteroid of discord due to forced change

  • The Midheaven (locational charts) -- professional life

  • The Decendent (locational charts) -- partnered life

  • The Imum Coeli (locational charts) -- home and family life
